My name is Saar aka Ragdollsies

I’m from (West-Flanders ) Belgium!
Age?
I’m 19
How long have you been customizing?
I started in February this year, so 8 months
What got you started?
Last summer I stumbeled upon a doll costumising video of Dollightful , I really love what she does but it was untill a friend of mine told me she collected MH dolls that I started looking for dolls myself.
What types of customs do you do?
Mostly fantasy customs, but I’m trying to do more fanbased dolls too . I’ve customd MH and Winx dolls, but hopefully expend these later!
What sorts of mediums do you use?
Msc, acrylic posca pens,acrylic paint, soft pastels,Derwent watercolourpencils, pearlex microglitter,fimo gloss, ...
Are there any products you just can’t live without?

What is your most favorite custom that you have made?
Tori, She’s the second doll I ever made and she’s supposed to represent the zodiac Taurus. She has a lot of errors and one of her horns broke, but I wouldn’t want to sell her . It’s kind of a token that making mistakes is okay
What is your least favorite custom that you have made?
Pio, she’s also from the zodiac line and she’s currently (like most of my zodiac dolls) in like for a new face up. It wil be the fourth time now that I’ll redo her but here are the pics of me second and third try
A lot of beginners get so frustrated when their customs don't come out the way they want them to, and often compare themselves to their favorite artists and give up. Can you show us your very first custom?
Sure! This is Virgo, also from my zodiac line , she’s like my first time everything doll and she’s definitely not perfect, but I do love her
What is your most recent custom?
Cotton the fortune teller. She’s one of my Halloween dolls and is soon up on etsy!
What is the worst injury you’ve had from working on customs?
Small scratches on my finger from my rerooting tool, and one time I stabbed myself under my nail while sewing a gap in a dollhead
Who/What inspires you?
A lot of amazing artists on IG and YT! Also I’m a big fangirl and love stories and such things
What projects are you currently working on?
I have a lot of idea’s for dolls in the future, but right now I’m making a GOT doll and some season fairies !
Do you have any odd habits while working on customs?
I like to watch series while rerooting, but mostly get distracted, also I’m very impatient and try to work on two dolls at a time (while not letting my MSC dry and then failure happens)
What types of art do you enjoy?
I study animationfilm in Brussels so I love movies in all kinds ! I also draw and like DIY stuff ! I sew and like baking too!
Do you take commissions?
Currently only for friends , since I’m still a ‘beginner’ and need to improve a little more.

Do you have any favorite tips or tricks?
Some fake eyelashes can really bring in some dimension and also nailpolish is a handy thing if you want to make blood or add a glittery effect on the dolls skin
Any advice for people just starting out?
Be patient c: ! Draw out your concept and don’t be afraid to make mistakes!
