Around 3-4 years
What got you started?
I was in a Living Dead Dolls group on FB and I saw the most GOREgous LDD custom ever!! So I started customizing LDD dolls until I discover MH dolls :D
What types of customs do you do?
Mostly Monster High customs, my style is creepy/glam/Gothic/Victorian etc.
What sorts of mediums do you use?
Watercolor pencils and Acrylic paint
Are there any products you just can’t live without?
MSC all the wayyyyyyy it’s the best sealant ever
What is your most favorite custom that you have made?
What is your least favorite custom that you have made?
My first and least custom ever lol
A lot of beginners get so frustrated when their customs don't come out the way they want them to, and often compare themselves to their favorite artists and give up. Can you show us your very first custom?
What is your most recent custom?
What is the worst injury you’ve had from working on customs?
I stabbed myself a couple of times with a rerooting tool 😂
Who/What inspires you?
Like I said, my style is glam/Gothic/Victorian
so basically anything Dark and creepy…..
What projects are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on my Bloody Mary MH doll AND I’m working on “stylized” jointed body for Monster High dolls, I hope that I will finish the “stylized” body by next year :)
Do you have any odd habits while working on customs?
I like to do multiple projects at the same time, when I work on my dolls I’ll get bored so I’ll switch to other projects then switch back until I finish all of them (sounds confusing I know…)
What types of art do you enjoy?
Dark and creepy
Do you take commissions?
Yes :)
Where can people see your work and contact you?
My instagram: @gothiquezombie on Instagram
My Etsy store: http://etsy.me/2yyT6vf
My very very old youtube channel(that I only uploaded one video) : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqLKup5sPoAwj5xVJI6eL5A
Do you have any favorite tips or tricks?
Always start you repainting with 3 layers of MSC ;) 1st layer to prime the surface, 2nd to protect the vinyl, and 3rd layer to make sure that the surface is totally matte.
Any advice for people just starting out?
Don’t compare your work/skill with other’s , if your first custom looks ugly that’s OK! With practice and experience your skill will improve eventually :) Last but not least….. DON’T COPY other people’s work! You can use other people’s work as an inspiration but don’t copy!!
